MARBLE MAKING TECHNOLOGY

As can be seen in the making of marbles by hand the availability of technology starting around the late 1920's by way of the "gob feeder" has changed marble making forever.

About Me

My photo
Collecting marbles was not my first passion as a small child my mom could always uncover a pocketful of my ‘pretty’ rocks I would always seem to find. My rock collection was always hidden in my closet as though it was a pot of gold. I must admit I continued this hobby even into adulthood in a three-month cross-country trip with my best friend I collected and stowed away rocks in the van. One of my favorite all time comedy movies is the Long, Long Trailer with Lucille O’Ball and anyone that has ever seen it knows how she loved her collection of rocks. Even today, I have a few of my favorites displayed on my fireplace mantel along with yes “marbles”. I have always loved the sparkle and beautiful colors so that would explain why I also collect kaleidoscopes and we won’t go there on this posting.
